Yashasvi Jaiswal, Gundappa Vishwanath, and Mohinder Amarnath - 11th time



The year 2024 has been great for Yashasvi Jaiswal and he is the second-highest run-scorer in the world in Tests this year. Jaiswal has scored three centuries and eight half-centuries so far this year. These include a double century. Overall, he has scored 50+ for the 11th time this year.


With this, he has become the joint third Indian batsman to score 50+ in Test cricket the most number of times in a year. Gundappa Vishwanath in 1979 and Mohinder Amarnath in 1983 had scored 50+ in Test cricket 11 times in a year.

Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar - 12 times



Sunil Gavaskar in 1979 and Sachin Tendulkar in 2010 have scored 50+ 12 times in Test cricket in a year. Both of them are jointly second in this matter. Sachin also scored the most runs that year, 1562, which included seven centuries and five half-centuries.


Out of these, he also scored two double centuries. Gavaskar, who scored the most Test runs in 1979, scored four centuries and eight half-centuries. During this period, he also scored a double century.


Virender Sehwag- 13 times



The Indian who has scored the most Test 50+ scores in a year is Virender Sehwag, who achieved this feat in 2010 while scoring the second most runs in Tests. Sehwag scored five centuries and eight half-centuries in Tests in 2010. Sehwag scored all his five centuries in India. He scored two centuries each against South Africa and Sri Lanka.
